Teresa Bowers is the editor of the newly released collection, Pipings: New Music for Flute and Organ published by Augsburg Fortress Publishers. This volume, published in 2012, contains new works that she commissioned as well as existing music for flute and organ never before published.

"As a flutist, college professor, organist and church musician, I have always lamented the lack of a substantial body of serious literature for flute and organ, and I was eager to enlarge the repertoire."

The compositions included in this collection are equally at home in the concert hall and in liturgical settings, challenging both the listener and the performer to open windows beyond themselves - musical icons if you will.

"It is my hope that these exciting new works will find their way into the repertoire of professional flutists, church musicians, as well as serious students of these instruments, and will enrich the lives of all who hear and perform them."

Bowers performed the premiere of this collection with organist Felix Hell in 2011 and collaborated with organist Bruce Neswick in a recently released recording of these new pieces, also called Pipings. Pipings was recorded by Teresa Bowers and organist Bruce Neswick in Auer Hall, Jacob School of Music, Indiana University.  A CD is included in the score.
